Will the next installment in Samsung's Galaxy Note series live up to everyone's expectations? The South Korean tech giant's upcoming unit might make or break the future of the series, given last year's fiasco.

According to a recent leak from a Chinese publication, which claims to have obtained its information from an inside source, the Galaxy Note 8 will come with a 6.3-inch display, making it only slightly larger than the recently launched Galaxy S8. This comes as a surprise since the phablet has always been noticeably larger than the Galaxy S units.

Moreover, analysts have reportedly sided with recent rumors claiming that the Galaxy Note 8 will come with dual-camera technology. Reports say Samsung will most likely upgrade the device's camera to set it apart from other smartphones. The camera will reportedly come with a 10 nm FinFet LPP technology, which improves the snapper's performance by 10 percent and brings about a 15 percent increase in efficiency.

It remains unclear if Samsung intends to increase the megapixel rating of the camera. Reports point out that in recent years the tech company has focused on improving features instead of revamping the series' specs.

Although Samsung has kept mum about its plans for the upcoming installment, many believe that if the tech giant comes with the rumored features, and if they do not fail this time around, the company can regain the series' glory. To note, Samsung suffered a massive loss last year from the Galaxy Note 7 as they had to recall several units, following reports of explosions.

The Galaxy Note 8's release has been pushed back, as Samsung has installed a series of security measures to prevent the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco from ever recurring.
