The Samsung Galaxy S6 was released merely a few months ago but speculation about the Galaxy S7 has already begun. With the code name "Lucky Project," @evleaks revealed that Samsung will release four S7 models: the Galaxy S7, the S7 Plus, the S7 Edge and the S7 Edge Plus. 

The Korean-based electronics conglomerate has a tradition of announcing new products during the annual Mobile World Congress. If Samsung sticks to tradition, consumers can expect the Galaxy S7 line to be officially announced on Feb. 21, 2016, during the event. 

There's a rumor that the S7 smartphones will feature a 4K display and an increase of internal storage to 64 GB, which would mean a heftier price tag.  

Samsung is reportedly one of the smartphone makers in line to use Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 820 processor. Samsung and China-based smartphone maker Xiaomi are said to be in a race to see who will integrate the 820 processor in their respective phones first as Qualcomm will give special attention to whoever launches it first. 

According to Business Korea, Xiamomi's Mi5 smartphone is also slated for release early next year.

Meanwhile, Samsung used their Exynos processor in the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy Note 5 because the Snapdragon 810 was reported to be prone to overheating. 

Samsung and Xiaomi aren't the only companies to secure a supply of Snapdragon 820 processors. Lenovo recently signed an agreement with Qualcomm but has yet to announce which smartphone will feature the 820. 

Blueprints obtained by Uswitch show the Samsung Galaxy S7 Plus with a 6-inch screen and a rounded metal frame. It will feature a USB Type-C port, which means faster data transfer and battery charging. It won't be thinner than the Galaxy S6 since it will measure 7.82 mm thick compared to its predecessor's 6.88-mm thickness. 

The main camera of the Galaxy S7 line will be between 12 and 16 megapixels, as rumored by various sites. 

With S7 Plus's phablet size, many speculate that it is meant to replace Samsung's Note line-up.
