Olivia Pope's dream of having a peaceful, happy life with the one that she loves may not happen anytime soon.

By the end of "Scandal" season 4, fans of the show where thrilled to see Liv (Kerry Washington) and President Fitz (Tony Goldwyn) have another chance to begin their lives together, especially since Liv's other lover Jake (Scott Foley) finally decided to concede to Fitz and let her go, while the president ordered his first lady Mellie (Bellamy Young) to get out of the White House after she admitted that she was involved with the killings of the jurors who were called for the B613 case.

But spoilers reveal that Liv and Fitz have a lot of problems to face when "Scandal" season 5 premieres this fall, making it impossible for them to begin a formal relationship.

According to reports, the newly appointed White House Chief of Staff Elizabeth North (Portia de Rossi) will be one of the biggest sources of conflict this season, since she is bent on getting her revenge on Mellie for making her life difficult in the past.

On the other hand, the life of Liv's trusted friend-turned-traitor Huck (Guillermo Diaz) could be in danger this season. It was revealed in the finale that Huck killed the jurors last season because he was threatened by Liv's dad Rowan Pope (Joe Morton). But now that Huck's secret is already out in the open, will he be able to protect his own life?

ABC has yet to release the official plot teasers for "Scandal" season 5, but one of the cast members already confirmed the release date of the show's premiere episode.
