"Scribblenauts Showdown's" gameplay modes, particularly the multiplayer minigames, of the upcoming game were revealed ahead of the game's release.

The action-puzzle video game developed by a Miami-based game studio Shiver and published by Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. will feature three modes — Versus, Showdown and Sandbox.

Versus mode is for two players. It can also be played by solo players. It has over 25 minigames for players to choose from which can be played following one another in succession.

Showdown mode can be played by up to four players in card-based minigames. Players will have to compete on board-game style maps, tracking their progress as they complete the challenges. The mode, like Versus, will also feature more than two dozen minigames that are classified into two types — speedy and wordy. Speedy minigames are the usual minigames video games usually has to offer and for the Showdown mode, players will be tasked (to name a few minigames) to catch the most number of fireflies by jumping, shake their controllers as fast as they possibly can to dig up treasures, and race with opponents in climbing up a rope, dodging obstacles that include whales, puffins and yetis. Wordy minigames, on the other hand, are the traditional Scribblenauts style minigames that tasked players to beat their opponents with the number of words they can input as well as to create objects with their magical dictionaries.

Sandbox mode offers a more traditional Scribblenauts gameplay. This time, however, players have the chance to play the mode with another player. Players will be situated in a world where characters have problems that only players can solve. The Sandbox mode will feature eight levels, which will earn players Starites and achievements.

"Scribblenauts Showdown" is scheduled to release for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch on March 6.
