Two consecutive losses in the 2015 National Football League (NFL) regular season was all it took for strong safety Kam Chancellor to decide against his holdout and return to practice.

In his pursuit for a new contract, Chancellor held out for 54 days, according to The Seattle Times.

But last Wednesday, Chancellor reported at the Seahawks' training facility and already joined the team in practice.

Facing the media after practice, Chancellor was with head coach Pete Carroll who said it had been a long process but they are "thrilled" that he is back.

Carroll also stated that Chancellor has always been an important part of the program and is a "fantastic leader."

When it was time for Chancellor to address the media, he said he was happy to be back playing football again, being with the organization, and his teammates.

The 27-year-old athlete said the Seahawks' losses this season were hard to watch but he is ready to play football.

Chancellor was asked why he only returned now and he answered, "I think it was that time. I talked to a few guys, got some great words from people. I just feel like the time is now. I've always been a guy who follows my heart."

The three-time Pro Bowler added that for the leader that he is, watching the Seahawks lose was hurtful.

"So I think the time is now to come back, put all business to the side and address that after the season, just get back to work," Chancellor also stated.

The "Legion of Boom" member said he prays all the time and is a godly man but the biggest factor that convinced him to return was the conversations he had with his teammates during the holdout.

Chancellor also answered the question a lot of people are curious about, "I know I can play Sunday."

The Seahawks continue their search for their first win this season when they host the Chicago Bears this Sunday.

Along with discussing his return, the holdout, and football, Chancellor also addressed the fans and said he forgives the people who did not understand the situation saying, "If God can forgive, I can also."
