Fiona (Emmy Rossum) will not be having any boyfriends this year since she will be focusing all her energy on working at the diner. Meanwhile, Lip (Jeremy Allen White) takes the spotlight in the seventh season of the show.

Previously in "Shameless," Fiona had a fallout with Sean (Dermot Mulroney) on their wedding day, which ultimately set the two on different paths.

In season 7, Fiona's current priority is herself. Although she took in her siblings and is trying to make them more responsible and accountable for their actions, she is also working hard on Patsy's Pies to keep herself financially secure.

Executive producer Nancy Pimental shared with TV Line that Fiona will not be focusing on building a romantic relationship with any guy this season.

"She has had so many bad relationships. She doesn't trust herself, whether she can do this again. And also, she throws herself into this job that becomes a bigger challenge than she thought. So her time is just consumed with it," Pimental explained.

She also explained that Fiona feels conflicted about running the diner, but she does not have a lot of options to consider, which pushes her to take over Patsy's and try to stir things a little differently from how Sean ran the place before.

Other than Fiona, another Gallagher will be getting his act together and will be the focus of season 7. Lip is on the path of saving himself with the use of his genius mind and a college education to avoid turning out like his dad, Frank (William H. Macy).

In an interview with Esquire, White tells how Lip relates himself to Frank. White said that Lip sees a similarity between him and Frank since they are both smart, but without the opportunity to use their brains well.

"He's a smart person and he never had a chance. I think that's the only thing that keeps, at least Lip, sort of into him. He's so bright and he never had a shot. That makes Lip sad and that makes Lip look at himself," White shared.

For Lip, he wants Frank to have another shot, which will motivate him to make sure that he doesn't take any of his chances for granted. It can be expected that this season Lip will step up to get his act straight, away from the binge drinking and smoking, but nothing is for sure yet.

"We'll see whether Lip embraces those opportunities or not," Pimental teased.

"Shameless" season 7 airs Sundays at 9 p.m. EDT on Showtime.
