'Sherlock' season 4 spoilers: Christmas special will be interesting
Benedict Cumberbatch said that the Christmas special episode of "Sherlock," slated for December 2015, will be interesting and his character will be "pressed."
The actor spilled the beans pertaining to the Christmas special of the hit TV series. The London detective may be up for a hard time amidst the festive season. Sherlock has been known for his calm nature, and often assesses cases with knowledge and common sense. However, viewers may see another side of Sherlock Holmes on the Christmas special of the show.
"We've never seen [Sherlock] being really pressed yet, so that will be interesting," Cumberbatch told Empire magazine. It is still unconfirmed what Sherlock will be so obsessed about.
The filming for the Christmas special has not yet started, but is rumored to commence in January. The slight delay is due to the erratic schedule of the two protagonists. However, despite the fact that no filming has started yet, predictions and teasers are highly anticipated by the waiting fans.
Meanwhile, show's co-creator Steven Moffat claimed that the new season will top the epic finale of season 3, with rumors claiming that Moriarty will be back from the grave in one form or another. Sherlock's adversary is rumored to return and will shake things up in the neighborhood.
"We practically reduced our cast to tears by telling them the plan. Honestly, Mark [Gatiss] and myself are so excited with what we've got coming up, probably more excited than we've ever been about Sherlock. ... Honestly I think we can [top the last series]," he told Hollywood Reporter.
"Sherlock" season 4 is returning to BBC in early 2016 with no official date yet. However, the series will also hold a Christmas special planned in December 2015 and will be based on the mystery "The Adventure of the Blue Carbuncle."
