Sleepy Hollow Season 4 spoilers: Headless Horseman returns, new villain to be introduced as Ichabod moves to Washington D.C.

With Sleepy Hollow undergoing a sort of reboot with the death of Abbie Mills, played Nicole Beharie, the series which has reportedly been in danger of cancellation has reportedly gained new life.

In Season 4, Ichabod Crane moves to Washington, D.C. to find a new witness, Diana, who will be played by True Blood alum Janina Gavankar, an agent of Homeland Security and a single mom.

While she and Ichabod may not always see eye to eye and she may seem tough on the outside, her softer side will be revealed when she deals with her daughter, reported Christian Times.

Aside from Gavankar, another alum of another hit series will be joining the cast. Lost alum Jeremy Davies will play the role of Malcolm Dreyfuss, an eccentric billionaire who is expected to play the show's newest villain.

Rachel Melvin and Jerry McKinnon will also play the witnesses new allies since many of the original cast members have also said goodbye to the show like Lance Gross and Jessica Camacho, TVLine reported.

According to Yibada, Ichabod's journey to Washington will be to link up with a secret organization whose mission is to battle supernatural entities.

It has been speculated that Season 4, while it marks a new beginning to Ichabod's journey will also see the return of his nemesis, the Headless Horseman, who has appeared in two episodes of Season 3.

Showrunner Albert Kim teased fans about what to expect for the Season 4 premiere.

In a tweet, he shared the title of the episode which is Columbia, which could be a reference to the district of Columbia and the new setting of the show.

He wrote the episode which was directed by Russell Fine.

Sleepy Hollow returns to Fox during midseason of 2017.
