The "Rising Dawn" patch recently released for Xbox One version of "Smite" is adding a new character.

The game's newest god, known as Khepri, has a bit of an unusual look, given that he closely resembles an overgrown scarab, according to Gamespot.

His unique look is not the only reason to take note of Khepri, as the latest addition also brings some new skills to the table that "Smite" players will likely be glad to make use of.

First off, Khepri is a new character designed to help protect his allies, making him an essential addition to any team looking to become a stronger unit. He also has a skill that enables him to keep another ally from dying, which would be useful in the middle of any confrontation.

Aside from adding Khepri, the "Rising Dawn" patch will also be introducing players to the season ticket. This new addition allows players to accumulate fantasy points for things such as winning games, making purchases, and even just through correctly predicting who will emerge as the victor in a given match. These fantasy points can then be used to get new items inside "Smite."

Another new addition coming courtesy of the "Rising Dawn" patch is the all-new Spectator Mode, according to Game Zone. With Spectator Mode, "Smite" players can watch ongoing matches in the game; but since the addition is still in its beta phase, the matches players can view will be limited to those that people on their friends list are already in.

A patch coming later on will eventually allow players to watch matches that have been archived.

As always, the new "Rising Dawn" patch is also making some balance tweaks to the characters already in the game. One of the characters greatly affected by the balancing is Ah Puch, one of the stronger gods in "Smite."
