Sony Xperia XA Ultra is coming to the U.S. and CanadaSony USA

The Sony Xperia XA Ultra smartphone is not just an ordinary selfie phone. The upcoming model can be called the ultimate selfie phone with its 16MP front-facing camera. It is slated to arrive this summer in Canada and the U.S.

Sony has officially announced the arrival of its XA Ultra phone via its U.S. counterpart on North American soil. The Twitter post says, "Introducing #XperiaXAUltra with a 16MP front facing camera and near border-less 6" display sonymobile.com/us/."

Mobile Syrup, a technology news website based in Canada, reported that the phone will be arriving this summer in their country. The selfie camera will feature an Exmor RS sensor, Optical Image Stabilization or OIS, and forward-facing flash. The 16MP camera is specifically geared toward low-light photography, thus good quality images are expected. Likewise, the main 21MP main camera also contains a similar Exmor RS sensor and a hybrid autofocus, which makes it faster in capturing those precious moments. However, the main camera is not equipped with an OIS technology.

The Xperia XA Ultra is a huge phone. It comes with a 6-inch edge-to-edge curved display screen that offers Full HD or 1080p resolution. To make colors livelier, a Mobile BRAVIA engine 2 and a Super Vivid mode technology comes with the phone. Images from these cameras will be smoothly processed by its 64-bit octa-core MediaTek MT6755 processor with a clock speed of 2.0 GHz and paired with a 3GB RAM .

It will also come with a 16GB internal storage, and a microSD slot is ready for storage expansion of up to to 200GB. The battery is pegged at 2,700 mAh, while the operating system is an Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Phone Arena added that the upcoming smartphone destined for the U.S. market will be an unlocked version, similar to its previously released models.

Sony has not mentioned any price point for their Xperia XA Ultra, but fans will soon find out.
