Although Sony released the Xperia Z3 only recently, a lot of people are already curious and looking forward to its successor. However, the new rumored features of the future Sony Xperia Z4 may disappoint waiting fans as some of them fall below the expectations of consumers.

Tech website Phone Arena got hold of new leaked images of the alleged Sony Xperia Z4 from an unnamed source who took them from Sony's lab. The new photos show a 5.2-inch Full HD screen display. Previous reports speculated that Sony will go a notch higher and give the device a 5.4-inch quad HD Triluminos display.

The overall design will also receive only minor changes since the handset will sport a design similar to previous Xperia smartphones. The handset will feature Sony's OmniBalance appearance with slight changes in the placement of some of the peripherals of the device. The earpiece and speaker will both be placed near the edge in contrast to the Xperia Z3 where the details were placed toward the screen.

Under the hood, the Sony Xperia Z4 is purported to sport a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 clocked at 2.7 GHz with 3 GB of RAM. This is different from previous rumors claiming that the handset will be equipped with the next generation Snapdragon 810, although this could be because of the reported delay in the release of Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 due to problems in production.

The handset will also include Sony's new 21-megapixel Exmor IMX230 camera sensor, a 3.2 MP front-facing shooter, and a 3300 mAh battery. The smartphone will run with the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS.

It is said that Sony will unveil its flagship smartphone at the upcoming Mobile World Congress scheduled on March 2 to 5, 2015, along with the Xperia Z4 Ultra. However, Sony has not announced anything official yet.
