Television star Sophia Bush finally opens up about her exit from NBC's police drama series "Chicago P.D." Bush left the show after four seasons earlier in May.

During an interview with Refinery29, Bush admitted that working for the show was her "dream job." However, she also stated that she was miserable. The actress who portrayed Detective Erin Lindsay did not disclose detailed information for her departure. In the interview, she said, "I don't have to give everyone the specific break down of exactly why I left until I'm ready to do that."

Bush also stated that she gave the showrunners a heads-up about her plans to quit. Sophia then narrated that she told the bosses, "If something really drastic doesn't change, I'm leaving at the end of the year. I understand how the business works and how women are treated." Bush did not mention any name in particular.

"Chicago P.D.'s" showrunners have not commented on Bush's remarks, so far.

She also shared her future plans for her career as an up-and-coming producer for 20^th Century Fox Television. "I think about, 'what's kind of the highest self-version of what my career means to me.' Storytelling is the oldest form of human history on earth," she said in the interview.

Bush recently signed a deal with Fox as an actress and a producer at the same time. She will be part of a series as an executive producer and will also star in either a drama or comedy series. There are still no reports or updates about Bush's future project or projects.

The television icon also told Refinery29 that she is focusing on her social advocacy campaigns. "When I talk about that stuff, people go nuts about it because they can't process that I'm a social liberal, that I believe in equality for all," Bush said.
