TV addicts have their hopes high on a new series hitting the small screen this week.

"Stalker" will premiere on CBS this Wednesday. Starring Maggie Q and Dylan McDermott, it has an air of the network's crime dramas. The addition of "Scream" writer Kevin Williamson will surely give the new show a creepy feeling.

CBS released the official synopsis of the show, which reads: "LAPD's Threat Assessment Unit's Lt. Beth Davis (Maggie Q) and Det. Jack Larsen (Dylan McDermott) search for a stalker with an affinity for fire. Also, Beth meets with an exasperated college student who claims his former roommate is aggressively harassing him."

Based on the promo of the first episode, the victim of the pyromaniac stalker will be played by Torrey DeVitto. Meanwhile, the two ex-roommates will be played by Daren Kagasoff and Erik Stocklin. Stocklin's character will pay special attention to Beth after the police officer trails after him.

On the other hand, AnnaLynne McCord confirmed that she will appear as a guest in one episode.  She will play Nina Preston, a television star who seeks the help of the detectives after an obsessed fan threatens her life.

Based on the snippets of the episodes, it seems that the drama will deal with new cases every week. The cases will obviously lean toward situations wherein victims suffer or experience stalkers. Fans are looking forward to various cases that the writers of the series can come up with.

Many are excited with the pairing, and a lot also wonder whether Maggie and Dylan's characters will be an item. However, writer Kevin Williamson said that Beth and Jack's relationship will be a battle of the sexes.  Nonetheless, fans can always speculate on a blooming relationship on the horizon as the series progresses.

"Stalker" premieres on Oct. 1. The show will also star Victor Rasuk as Detective Ben Caldwell, Mariana Klaveno as Detective Janice Lawrence, and Elisabeth Röhm as Deputy DA Amanda Tate.
