A new trailer has dropped for the upcoming "Star Trek Beyond" movie, and it may give an idea on the demise of the Enterprise, as well as some choice Easter eggs.

The new video footage highlights the change in the helm for the new franchise movie. The upcoming "Star Trek Beyond" is directed by Justin Lin of the "Fast and the Furious" series, taking over the seat from J.J. Abrams, and the new footage showcases the thrill and chase reminiscent of the franchise. Meanwhile, the new video also confirms the premise for the new movie, that the crew will have to abandon the Enterprise as the starship gets totally wrecked.

The new big bad, Krall (played by Idris Elba) wreaks havoc on the Enterprise with a horde of weapons. The Enterprise was seriously damaged and beyond repair that the crew bailed out at the last minute. In addition, the new trailer even shows the Enterprise being boarded.

Meanwhile, CinemaBlend underscores that the new trailer also highlights some Easter eggs for the hardcore fans. According to the industry follower, the footage builds up to a celebration of the franchise's 50th year in the industry – the introduction of 50 species of alien native to the "Star Trek" universe.

While the past trailer seem to focus on the Enterprise crew, the new footage also pans out to include at least two characters central to the film, the new bad boss Krall, and Jaylah. Played by Sofia Boutella, Jaylah becomes an ally to the crew that gets marooned on the planet after the destruction of the Enterprise.

"Star Trek Beyond" is co-written by Simon Pegg, who also appears in the movie as Scotty. The new movie will release into theaters on July 22. Meanwhile, the trailer also confirms that "Star Trek Beyond" will have its world premiere on July 20 as an outdoor IMAX presentation at the San Diego Comic-Con.
