Following the release and successful reception of "Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi," the fandom is already looking towards the next sequel, as a working title has finally emerged for the upcoming third movie.

"Black Diamond" has been revealed by the film studio executives to be the working title of "Star Wars Episode IX." This does not give much for fans to go on about the future of the franchise, but it is still early for rumors and plot details to start leaking.

This information was taken directly from the website Fantha Tracks, which has also in the past, revealed the working titles for both "The Last Jedi (Space Bear)" and "Rogue One (Los Alamos)." As such, they can be considered as a reliable source of speculative information regarding "Star Wars."

In addition to the working title, the production company which Lucasfilm has also chosen to work in "Episode IX" was called Carbonado Industries (UK) Ltd., where carbonado is actually a natural diamond which is the toughest in the world and is commonly known as Black Diamond, hence the working title.

Another speculation regarding the plot of the movie is that one very iconic character may be returning for the last movie of the trilogy. Black Diamonds are known for their luminescence, and being luminous is actually one of the figuratively descriptive characteristics of a Jedi. This much was said Jedi Master Yoda himself, "Luminous beings are we...not this crude matter," while speaking to Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) back in 1980's "Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back." As such, some rumors say that Yoda will be appearing in the upcoming movie.

This, however, may be considered a stretch and could also mean a lot of other things such as the Jedi Order being finally able to recover from the damage that Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine have done to the galaxy. At this point, it is still too early to make any reliable guesses regarding the story of "Episode IX," but more leaks are expected to arise once the production begins early in 2018 all throughout the eventual Dec. 20, 2019 release of the movie.
