"Stranger Things" season 3 is still a long way off, but David Harbour already knows what he wants to see for his character, Jim Hopper, in the future episodes: a team-up with the beloved babysitter of all time, Steve Harrington (Joe Keery).

When asked about his hopes for the third season, Harbour told Variety a couple of things including more scenes with Winona Ryder's forever-frazzled Joyce Byers and a greater exploration of his character's personal history and how it made him into the man he has become. However, the most exciting yet less feasible part is that he wants to bring his and Keery's real-life bromance on screen, too.

"I do think the internet knows my love for Joe Keery," he said. "I would love to see a Hopper and Steve get-together, but I seriously doubt that's going to happen."

The duo's friendship has been thriving behind the camera, as evidenced by their exchanges on social media. Harbour has been comparing his younger self to that of his 25-year-old co-star who also has an obvious affection for the man. In fact, he already suggested previously they could play "buddy-cop" in season 3.

As previously reported, Keery said he thinks "David's so sick and such a great actor," and that playing off on camera with him would be kind of funny. But beyond their off-set friendship, he also thinks Steve could learn a lot from Hopper.

Unfortunately, as Harbour said, this one is the least likely to happen. Fans can only hope the Duffer brothers will make room to allocate more screen time for the dream team in the upcoming season.

Details on "Stranger Things" season 3 are under tight wraps at the moment. Harbour himself says he does not know much about it except his involvement. The show has no official release date at the moment, but if their release timeline is anything to go by, Harbour guesses new episodes should hit Netflix around January or February 2019.
