'Street Fighter 5' update: New character teased

From Director Yoshinori Ono's Twipple

The upcoming "Street Fighter V" is shaping up to be a good fighting game and will be made better than its predecessors – at least in terms of the character lineup. Although publisher Capcom had hinted before that the upcoming installment may end up with a smaller selection of fighters than the previous "Street Fighter IV" iteration, the roster will be made up of fighters with different backgrounds and a wider range of playstyles.

To maintain the hype and fan interest in the upcoming title, the development team of "Street Fighter V" keeps on teasing fans with information on the character roster. Recently, game director Yoshinori Ono shared a teaser image to fans, building up to a big reveal about a new character to be added to the roster of the fighting game.

In the teaser image, it seems like Ryu is being bashed with a flurry of wind-based attacks but his opponent is not shown. Fans are guessing that it's Cody from "Street Fighter Alpha 3" since the attack pattern is similar to the character's Criminal Upper Special Attack.

Meanwhile, the most recent character addition is R. Mika from "Street Fighter Alpha 3." Judging from the reveal trailer, R. Mika retains her specialized, high-flying moves while also being an expert in close combat. The footage also reveals that she will tag-team with partner Nadeshiko when players use the V-Trigger.

Other confirmed fighters for "Street Fighter V" include the franchise's most recognized characters: Ryu and Ken; series antagonist M. Bison; Cammy, Chun-Li, and Birdie. There will also be four new characters that will be added to the roster, with the first one, Necalli, already revealed to fans.

"Street Fighter V" will be launched next year for the PlayStation 4 and PC.
