After unveiling the new auto-runner game "Super Marion Run" during Apple's keynote event in September, Nintendo announced new details about the game more than a month before its official release date.

In an interview with Bloomberg to talk about their upcoming console, Nintendo Switch, company president Tatsumi Kimishima said that they are making sure that the new "Super Mario Run" will be as popular as "Pokémon GO."

Kimishima stated that they have big expectations for the game, especially after Apple CEO Tim Cook revealed that over 20 million people already signed up to be the first ones get the notification of when the game comes out on the market. This could be a positive sign that the game will be a huge success.

The upcoming side-scrolling auto-runner game was initially announced to be released in more than 100 countries. But Kimishima recently revealed during the company's semi-annual fiscal report that they will further expand the release of the game. According to the report that he read during the earnings call on Oct. 27, they are now looking forward to making the game available for iPhone and iPad devices in about 150 countries worldwide in December. He also mentioned that the game will be released for Android devices in the future.

Kimishima also revealed during the fiscal report that the upcoming "Super Mario Run" can be downloadable for free, and some of the game's elements can be enjoyed without having to pay. But players should make an in-game purchase to be able to enjoy playing all the elements of the game. "With our current plan, once a set purchase price is paid, consumers can repeatedly play the game without worrying about additional fees required. So, children can also play it with peace of mind," the Nintendo president stated.
