Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist) aka Supergirl will take on an escaped prisoner from Fort Rozz in the upcoming episode of the newest CBS series.

In "Stronger Together," TV Guide reports that the superhero will continue to heed the call and protect the National City from a new threat. Although still suffering from lack of confidence due to her first loss last episode, Supergirl will cast aside her doubts and find an escapee from the Kryptonian prison. Will she succeed with her second mission?

Meanwhile, Cat Grant (Calista Flockhart) is determined to feature the new champion in her newspaper. The TV series' synopsis for the upcoming episode reveals that she will pressure James Olsen (Mehcad Brooks) into exploiting his connection with Superman to achieve her purpose. Kara's boss will not let the scoop of interviewing Supergirl pass her by, never knowing that her editorial assistant is the person she so wanted to meet.

Last episode, viewers learned how Kara came to Earth. When she was 13, she escaped her planet Krypton before it was destroyed. She was supposedly sent to protect her baby cousin Kal-El, who would later take on the moniker of Superman. Her spaceship was right behind his when a repercussion from her planet's annihilation sent her into the Phantom Zone.

There, she spent 23 years trying to get to her destination. But as time was frozen in the place, she was still 13 years old by the time she made it to Earth. Kal-El has grown up and was the one who took care of her by sending her to the Danvers. Kara was raised with the couple's daughter Alex (Chyler Leigh). Although she's as powerful as Superman, she only wanted to fit in.

Fast forward into the future, and Kara was already working as an editorial assistant to CatCo. For the first time, she used her powers when a plane bound for Geneva had engine problems. Kara succeeded in saving its passengers. Later, she took on Vartox (Owain Yeoman), a Kryptonian fugitive. Even though she was defeated at first, Kara managed to overpower the villain through the help of Hank Henshaw (David Harewood) and the Department of Extra-Normal Operations (DEO).

"Supergirl" airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on CBS.
