Crowley will have a huge predicament when "Supernatural" returns for season 12, according to actor Mark Sheppard.

In a sneak peek posted on the show's official Facebook page, Sheppard revealed that Lucifer's (Rick Springfield) presence will make Crowley work hard to regain his throne in hell in the upcoming season.

"It's a very, very interesting turn I think as we are going into Season 12," the actor stated. "There are lots of things that haven't been answered that are going to have to be answered this season. Unfortunately, Lucifer has control over hell again. And, hopefully, we should see this season whether Crowley gets that back," he went on to say.

But will Lucifer allow Crowley to take over the leadership of hell? Based on the teaser, the demons under Lucifer's rule will never subject themselves under Crowley's reign as long as Lucifer is around. This could mean that Crowley will have to think of the best way to throw Lucifer out of hell.

Meanwhile, Dread Central posted the synopsis for the premiere episode of "Supernatural" season 12 titled "Keep Calm and Carry on."

The synopsis reads: "Dean (Jensen Ackles) is overwhelmed as he comes face to face with his mom, Mary Winchester (guest star Samantha Smith). Meanwhile, Sam (Jared Padalecki) is fighting for his life after Toni (Elizabeth Blackmore), the Woman of Letters, shot him."

While fans are excited to see the reunion between Mary and her sons, it does not mean that it just will be a joyous occasion for the Winchesters. The return of the Winchester matriarch could lead to numerous plot twists that fans will never expect from the series, especially since Sam will have to fight for his life and escape the clutches of the British Men of Letters.

"Supernatural" season 12 premieres on Thursday, Oct. 13, at 9 p.m. ET on The CW.
