Expect to see the Winchester brothers go back to their roots when "Supernatural" returns for season 12.

In an interview during the 2016 San Diego Comic Con, executive producer Robert Singer said that the stories that they will tackle will have a nostalgic feel to them.

"We're getting back to our roots a little bit, the kind of stories we're going to tell this year ... I think we don't have as big an uber story as we did last year," Singer stated during the press panel, as reported by BuddyTV.

He also revealed that Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) will start the season with a single main goal in mind.

"When [Sam and Dean] get together, they're much more single-minded this year than they were last year in terms of what their mission for the year is. That's not to say that they won't be butting heads or disagreeing about things, but for the first time I think in a couple of seasons, they're sort of on the same page to begin with," the executive producer said.

Singer also hinted that the British Men of Letters will play a major part in the plot of the upcoming season. But the group and the Winchesters will find themselves on the opposite ends because they use different methods when dealing with their adversaries.

According to the executive producer, the British Men of Letters are very conventional and organized. They view the world strictly in black and white.

"They view the American hunters as just this patchwork of loonies out there, picking their own missions and leaving collateral damage," he added. "It's just not the British way, so they'll bump heads pretty hard in the course of the season."

"Supernatural" season 12 will premiere on The CW on Oct. 13.
