Fans have been left with a cliffhanger finale of "Switched at Birth" season 4, with Bay (Vanessa Marano) and Daphne (Katie Leclerc) settling down with their jobs as a tattoo artist and a health clinic worker, respectively. Bay then got a call from home and it appears to be serious. What the nature of the call could be is the most awaited answer fans are looking forward to when the show returns this year.

Series creator Lizzy Weiss already revealed on Twitter the episode titles of the first four episodes of season 5, with the premiere titled as "The Call." The rest of the episodes are titled "This Has to Do With Me," "Surprise," and "Relation of Lines and Colors."

While the production has mainly kept mum about details of the episode, fans have speculated that this "call" from the first episode could be extremely important that both Daphne and Bay had to return home.

One speculation is that Kathryn (Lea Thompson) and John (D. W. Moffett) will be dealing with marriage problems. There are also rumors claiming that a couple's impending divorce might be the reason why Bay and Daphne had to return home immediately. Such then lead to the big question on who will be splitting up this year. Will it be Kathryn and John?

Meanwhile, Bay and Daphne's brother, Toby (Lucas Grabeel) and Lily (Rachel Shenton) will also have problems with their newborn baby. This problem may also be one reason why Bay received the emergency call.

These are merely speculations and fans will find out the answers soon enough. Besides, it was Weiss who told TV Line late last year what fans should expect from the show.

"All will be revealed. There's a lot of stuff that we're talking about, and whenever we're back on, you'll get your answers," she said.

An exact release date for the Freeform family drama series has not been announced, but "Switched at Birth" season 5 is expected to return sometime in April.
