Earlier this year, Leah Messer lost custody of her six-year-old twin daughters Ali and Aleeah to her ex, Corey Simms. Right now, the "Teen Mom 2" star only gets to spend the weekends with her daughters, but according to a new report, the reality star is ready to fight back to regain custody of her children.

Radar Online reports that Leah has a hearing scheduled next month as a source of the website claims that the 23-year-old is "thrilled" that she got a court date.

"She's been waiting for this opportunity for months," said the source.

Leah lost custody of her twin daughters in October after a judge ruled that the girls would be better off at Corey's home. It was previously reported that the judge cited frequent school absences in the ruling, but the reality star met with the school superintendent, and it was claimed that she proved that she dropped off her daughters to school on time.

Aside from getting a court date, the judge also ruled in her favor regarding child support. Another source close to Leah told Radar that Corey was forced to pay a sizeable amount for back child support.

"He had to pay $6,000 in back-pay," said the source to the website. "The court just awarded her the $6,000." The insider adds that Leah is "happy" about the new development.

The source said that Corey owed Leah the money because he lied about his earnings and failed to disclose them.

"He pays child support, but the court system found out he makes extra income in other places that he doesn't file," the source explained.

Her upcoming court date and recent child support win appear to be the start of better days up ahead for the MTV star. Leah had a tumultuous year, which involved a stint in rehab, a second divorce, and the loss of primary custody of her children. Leah is reportedly optimistic as the source said that the star thinks that she has a good chance of getting her daughters back.
