The first half of "Teen Wolf" season 5 basically turned everything upside down. In the finale, it was revealed that Deputy Parrish is a Hellhound, and his arrival in Beacon Hills will be explained in the latter half of the season. For now, series creator Jeff Davis won't reveal what urged his presence.

He said though during a chat with Entertainment Weekly: "You don't know whether he's a good guy or a bad guy but that he serves a function, that he is definitely there for a reason, that he was drawn to Beacon Hills for a purpose, and the purpose of a Hellhound is they're a guardian of a supernatural place and that's what he is."

He then promised that the return of "Teen Wolf" season 5 will shed light on this.

"And we're going to find out just what that role entails in season 5B and how dangerous it's going to become for the rest of the characters," he said, hinting at a whole new type of threat looming over the city.

Davis called "Teen Wolf" season 5B the "season of resurrection," as fans saw Scott return from the dead with a mission to bring his pack back to life as well. The leader of the group will strive to give his friends hope once more. However, it won't be that easy as his death and his escape from it have effects.

Meanwhile, the hit MTV series seems to be approaching another Void Stiles epoch. Davis hinted during a chat with The Hollywood Reporter that the werewolf hasn't entirely gotten rid of the menacing state he was in back in season 3B, where he was all evil and controlled by a sinister spirit.

"That's part of the darkness still lurking inside of Stiles and he'll have the fear that is it more than just being possessed? Is there something inside that he has to keep a lid on?" Davis said.

"Teen Wolf" season 5 returns January 2016.
