It was previously reported that the production of "Teen Wolf" season 6 hit a slight issue when actor Dylan O'Brien had an accident while he was filming for "The Maze Runner: The Death Cure." It has now been confirmed that the season is indeed going to be delayed to this fall but the reasons have nothing to do with O'Brien's injuries.

The confirmation of the show's delay was initially posted by the official "Teen Wolf" Twitter account, and according to Teen Wolf News, the delay isn't caused by O'Brien's schedule and recovery process. Instead, it is stated that there is a conflict between VIACOM, MTV's parent company, and the family which owns the majority of the company.

According to the report, the pitched battle between the two sides has caused a lot of behind-the-scenes issues at MTV, leading to the discontinuation of some scripted shows and the exit of high-profile employees that used to work for the MTV network. 

It is further stated that "Teen Wolf" season 6 is being delayed as the network waits for another show, "Sweet/Vicious," to finish production. "Sweet/Vicious" is aiming the same demographic as "Teen Wolf" and it is explained that the new show will be paired with "Teen Wolf" for its debut to give it a boost in viewership ratings.

"Sweet/Vicious" is described as a dark drama-comedy where two girls become unlikely friends as they become vigilantes in their college campus. The show will star Eliza Bennett as Jules and Taylor Dearden as Ophelia.

As stated by Design and Trend, "Sweet/Vicious" is already wrapping up production and "Teen Wolf" season 6 already has 2 episodes that are ready to air. The former is expected to be ready for airing by late September which could hint at a late September or early October premiere for "Teen Wolf" season 6 as the two shows will launch together.
