"Tekken 7" is currently playable at select arcades across the country and the game's official Facebook page has a complete list of the arcade locations. However, fans are still waiting for the PS4 and Xbox One versions. A recent report now indicates that the game's release date for consoles may be revealed at the Tokyo Game Show.

According to Venture Capital Post, game director Katsuhiro Harada will be making the announcement himself during the event. This follows his post via Twitter that he will be attending the TGS 2015, although he did not specify if he will simply be there to represent the Bandai Namco team or if he will be presenting something related to "Tekken 7."

The site also points out that Bandai Namco used last year's TGS event to announce their new character Catalina, months before the arcade version was even released. It is possible that they will be using this year's event to make another big announcement, which many speculate to be the game's release date on consoles.

However, the release date that may be announced might be for the Japanese version only. As fans may recall, the arcade version of "Tekken 7" was released in Japan early this year but the North American arcade version has only seen a limited release thus far. This may occur again for the console version of the game.

According to the report, Harada is taking feedback from gamers who have tried the arcade version in order to improve the console version of "Tekken 7." This may be one of the reasons why the game was released on arcade prior to consoles in an age where arcades are already being considered an obsolete venue.

"Tekken 7" is the ninth installment in the franchise and introduces two new mechanics, the Rage Art and Power Crush, while also introducing new characters such as Josie Rizal, Gigas and Kazumi Mishima.
