Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe, the developer and publisher of the "Tekken" video game franchise, announced the release dates for "Tekken Mobile" — the game has been released on Feb. 1 for iOS and Android users in Latin America, Eastern Europe, Middle East, Africa and Southeast Asia. For players in the United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Spain, Italy, Russia, Benelux and Singapore, the game will release on Feb. 15, while for players in the United States, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea and Hong Kong, the game will release on March 1.

Bandai Namco announced the staggered release dates alongside the news that on March 1, in celebration of the 1.5 million pre-registrations, the exclusive mobile two-star character Rodeo Montana will be available for free for "Tekken" players. According to his character debut trailer, the new character, Rodeo, is a former U.S. Marine and former all-state football champion. He was a tough character with long-range strikes. He is also a combination fighter, combining mixed martial arts (MMA) with his hand-to-hand combat training.

"Tekken Mobile" was soft-launched in Canada in August last year. Bandai Namco has been updating the game since then, adding new characters and new features. Alongside the soft launch, the game publisher also started a successful worldwide pre-registration campaign, which was the reason why Rodeo will be available for free on March 1. On Jan.31, Bandai Namco expanded the soft launch to Mexico, Brazil, Latin America, Eastern Europe, Middle East, Africa, Indonesia, India, Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia.

"Tekken Mobile" is the first mobile game created for the "Tekken" franchise. The game will feature a Waza Card system for attacking. Furthermore, players must tap the screen to create combinations and special attacks. "Tekken Mobile" will also feature a story mode wherein players have to form a team of three fighters to defeat a new enemy named Revenant.
