Although there are speculations that the crossover game between Bandai Namco and Capcom brawlers is in danger of being scrubbed due to numerous delays, "Tekken" producer and game director Katsuhiro Harada assures hardcore fans that the upcoming title will roll out.

In a report by Event Hubs (from an original Famitsu interview), Harada is quoted as saying that contrary to rumors, "Tekken X Street Fighter" will definitely come out. Meanwhile, the game director added that because of the high expectations for the title, the team would have to come up with a twist when the game comes out.

"'Tekken X Street Fighter' is a game that's already been announced publicly. Just putting it out on the shelves won't be fun at all, after this long wait, so we need some sort of 'surprise'," Harada is quoted as saying. The game director, however, did not shed light on what the surprise might be.

Some observers are expecting that since both the upcoming "Street Fighter V" and "Tekken 7" games will have new characters to their rosters, the crossover games may also feature the new fighters. However, it still remains to be seen.

Harada mentioned in passing that despite the delays in the launching of "Tekken X Street Fighter," the characters who will appear in the title have already been decided on. "It might look like we've made no progress at all, but we actually decided the character lineup quite some time ago, and we've also completed the polygon models, the moves and the game system as well," Harada said.

Reports also indicate that the delays in the game's development and launch were inevitable as Harada and his team have also been hard at work on other titles, most notably the upcoming "Tekken 7" and "Pokken Tournament" console versions.
