"Terminator 6" may not be as dead, as was people previously believed. Speaking to Channel 9 in Australia (via The Telegraph), Arnold Schwarzenegger responded to a question about the film's production, but even his answer is vague and not a good indication that the film is indeed moving forward anytime soon. 

"I am looking forward to it, absolutely," was all the actor had to say. However, as pointed out in a report from Screen Rant, this response means that Paramount is still keeping "Terminator 6" possible, although they may not be as excited to push forward with the project given how "Genisys" failed to meet expectations.

"Terminator Genisys" was expected to be a big hit given that it would reboot the franchise while still acknowledging past films and it would star not only Arnold Schwarzenegger but "Doctor Who" star Matt Smith and "Game of Thrones" star Emilia Clarke.

Unfortunately, the film failed to break $90 Million in the United States. It did manage to earn well enough overseas, with over $112 million coming from China alone. By the end of its run, the film earned $440 Million worldwide, making it a marginal success but far below what the studios expected. 

Following the release of "Genisys," Paramount removed "Terminator 6" from their scheduled films for the next few years, hinting that the film would be cancelled for good. Schwarzenegger's comments, however, indicate that there is still hope for the film and that it might still press forward. 

According to a report from Cinema Blend, if there's anyone involved that would know if the film is moving forward, it would be Schwarzenegger given that he serves as a producer as much as one of the film's stars. Everyone else asked had given a vague response but the consensus is that the plans for the franchise need to be reworked. 

Paramount has yet to respond to Schwarzenegger's comments regarding the future of the "Terminator" franchise.
