It looks like Alison's (Ruth Wilson) elation after Noah's proposal last week will be short-lived, based on the trailers for the next episode of "The Affair" season 2.

In one of the sneak peeks for the upcoming episode, Alison is showing Noah some of the properties that she is considering moving into, but Noah is not as excited after spending the day in court.

Noah then breaks the news that they could no longer push through with their plans of sharing the same house after the court issued an order that prohibits Alison from being close to his children with Helen (Maura Tierney) because Whitney (Julia Goldani Telles) was apparently traumatized when she found out that her dad will marry his mistress-turned-girlfriend in the previous episode.

Meanwhile, Helen will also have troubles of her own because of her split with Noah. Two video clips for the next episode show that she is having a hard time coping with the separation. The promo trailer shows her downward spiral after losing her husband because of his affair with Alison. She is seen heavily drinking and getting arrested. At the end of the trailer, Helen asks Noah, "Why are you doing this to us?"

The other trailer reveals that Helen is having money problems. She is seen visiting her store to make sure that it will sell something since she badly needs money. She reveals Noah wants to take all  hermoney, which is why she has to earn on her own for her kids. But it seems like her current state of mind will not do her business any good.

TV Guide released a synopsis for the fourth episode of "The Affair," which reads:

"Helen makes an innocent mistake that leads to outrageous consequences. Meanwhile, a court order leads to a dire setback for Noah and Alison."

"The Affair" season 2 episode 4 airs on Sunday, Oct. 25, on Showtime.
