The fourth season of the television show by Showtime, "The Affair," will not be airing until sometime next year. Recently, it has been reported that Noah Solloway, played by Dominic West, will be involved in another problematic love triangle.

In a report by TV Fanatic, it would appear that Noah, Helen Solloway, played by Maura Tierney, Alison Bailey, played by Ruth Wilson, and Cole Lockhart, played by Joshua Jackson, seemingly have their own stories. This is despite the many conniving, secret-filled, and illegal activities that each of the characters have engaged in the previous seasons. The upcoming fourth season could see these characters reconvening once again, but how exactly?

That detail has not quite been detailed by the show's creators so far, but TV Line has reported that American actress, Sanaa Lathan will come aboard as one of the newest additions to the cast of the show. Lathan will be playing Jenelle, the principal of the school where Noah is currently employed as a teacher. It is also speculated that Jenelle might just be the next love interest of Noah.

If this is true, given that Jenelle is Noah's boss, matters could quickly get out of hand. Fortunately, fans will not have to wonder about Jenelle's character for too long. According to Deadline, it has been indeed confirmed that something steamy will spark between Jenelle and Noah. However, this relationship might be an ill-advised one for Noah since Jenelle's ex-husband, Carl Gatewood, played by Russell Hornsby, will be doing anything to get his ex-wife back.

This pursuit by Carl might not end well for Noah, since he has been described by the show's creators to be a very intelligent and driven individual who has previously had worked in the academic world as well.

It is speculated that season 4 of "The Affair" will be returning some time in 2018 on Showtime.
