With the release of the first set of movies for the DC Extended Universe film series, fans of the franchise are now talking about the planned films for 2017 and the years to follow. Warner Bros. and DC both have two movies planned for next year, namely "Wonder Woman" and "Justice League." Despite the excitement for the two upcoming movies, which were preceded by "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" and "Suicide Squad" this year, fans of the series are now talking about one particular movie which has just recently been the topic of discussions online.

Ben Affleck has previously been revealed to star in a solo "Batman" movie, which will further delve on the back story of the character within the new DC Extended Universe. There is currently no information yet about the details of the new movie's storyline, but there have been some theories.

What has been revealed as of the moment is that the new solo movie, which will apparently be titled simply as "The Batman," will feature Deathstroke as the main antagonist. There have also been rumors that Robin may also appear, explaining several scenes that were shown in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice." Other reports have also speculated that several other villains may also be featured, including Selina Kyle's Catwoman.

However, a new report has now outright squashed those rumors as Fandango editor Erik Davis revealed that Catwoman will in fact not be part of the upcoming movie. Davis apparently spoke to actress Sienna Miller, who revealed that she actually wanted to play the feline burglar but that the character was apparently not in the script. Miller worked with Affleck on the movie "Live by Night," which means that there may be some credibility to her claims. Some reports however have pointed out that Catwoman is still an important character in the story of Batman, so it might be possible that Affleck would insert her in the script at some point. For now, fans just have to wait and see which characters in the "Batman" franchise will be making an appearance in the upcoming new movie.
