Amy's (Mayim Bialik) answer to Sheldon's (Jim Parsons) wedding proposal is expected to be revealed when "The Big Bang Theory" returns for season 11.

Prior to Sheldon's surprising proposal, he spent time with Ramona Nowitzki (guest star Riki Lindhome) while Amy had to leave him to teach at Princeton for three months. But when Ramona kissed him and confessed her feelings for him, Sheldon opted to visit Amy in Princeton and asked her to marry him. However, the season ended before Amy could answer.

While fans of the sitcom will still have to wait until CBS airs the premiere episode of "The Big Bang Theory" season 11, showrunner Steve Molaro discusses the possible plot of the upcoming season particularly about the relationship between Sheldon and Amy.

When asked if Amy will say yes, Molaro says that it could possibly happen. "I don't know what's going to happen but any viewer would imagine she would — but we, the audience, know what propelled him there. It's an interesting situation and I'm excited to see how it turns out," he states in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

He also talks about how Sheldon would behave once the wedding planning begins, since he is known for being very particular about even the smallest details. But according to Molaro, they still have yet to think about that part of the story.

"We haven't thought about it long-term but if and when we get to that point, it does open a lot of fun possibilities — like family members," the showrunner states. "We've seen how Amy behaves herself as a maid of honor so who knows what's in store."

Molaro also hints that the other characters will also deal with new adventures next season. He said that Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) and Howard (Simon Helberg) will still have difficulties as new parents, while Leonard (Johnny Galecki), Raj (Kunal Nayyar), Sheldon, and Howard will move on with the next scientific project they will have to face in the next installment of the series. On the other hand, Penny (Kaley Cuoco) will reportedly find herself unhappy with her job.

The premiere episode of "The Big Bang Theory" season 11 is expected to air this fall.
