Penny's career will once again be the center of the character's goings-on in "The Big Bang Theory" season 9.

Executive producer Steve Molaro has stated that with Penny now settled in the love life department, it's high time the show explored her career once again in "The Big Bang Theory."

"We're starting to think about where Penny is in her life professionally," the EP told Entertainment Weekly. "While she's doing well in her current career, she may not be in love with it. There will be another step," Molaro went on to say.

Previous episodes of "The Big Bang Theory" season 9 have seen the gang grow. Howard and Bernadette have a baby on the way while Sheldon proposing to Amy is still not out of the question.

Penny's side of the story, apart from her marriage with Leonard, undoubtedly has to be her career finally taking off the way she wants it to.

Penny currently works at a pharmaceutical company with Bernadette. As established in the last episode of "The Big Bang Theory" season 9, she enjoys a steady flow of income, but it does not mean she'll settle for that.

If there's one thing "The Big Bang Theory" has established about Penny, it is the now-known fact that she is a big dreamer, but one who knows when to quit.

For a refresher, Penny was first introduced in "The Big Bang Theory" as a waitress for Cheesecake Factory whose heart truly lies in acting. After several attempts at stardom, she finds herself at her current job.

Penny's decision to rebuild her professional life once again in "The Big Bang Theory" season 9 will not involve her becoming a celebrity. In fact, Penny's ultimate dream to be an actress is something Kaley Cuoco does not want her character to pursue ever again.

"I never want to shoot Serial Ape-ist again. That fake movie was the torture of my life. No, I'd like her to stay in real life and really have her have a real job," Penny's essayer told Entertainment Weekly.

Molaro had no clue to offer about how this shift will take place in "The Big Bang Theory" season 9, but it looks like Penny is one step closer to landing a career she will genuinely love.

"The Big Bang Theory" season 9 returns on March 31 on CBS with "The Solder Excursion Diversion."
