'The Division' PTS 1.8 update: Brings in more console players; two new gameplay modes; enemy factions can now team up

PTS Update 1.8 is now live in "The Division"Twitter/TheDivisionGame

Those who play "The Division" will now get to know about the latest update that will be brought into the game. The patch came live a few days ago, and it brings in a number of new changes that the developers have done.

Of course, it would not be an update without some fixes here and there. Players will definitely be glad to see the fixes made to the game, such as the player turn speed as well as the increased amount of D-Tech made available to players through the deconstruction of both gear and weapons, and also through several caches and clearing Landmarks.

Yet, those are not the only fixes and features that are coming with the 1.8 update. The patch brings in two extra modes of gameplay, one being a co-operative and the other mode being competitive.

Other fixes come in with the Rogue 2.0 and the Skirmish. Players will find that the key binding for Go Rogue will not be called Use Medkit in the menu anymore. The developers have even fixed a potential exploit in the form of using the Cut the Rope functionality to level up their Manhunt status and receive Manhunt caches faster than usual.

They have also fixed an issue in terms of user interface that would reference Last Stand, as well as a bug that has a player getting stuck on the Skirmish loading screen.

Massive Entertainment and Ubisoft have been hard at work trying to maintain their community through the updates and attempts to get new players into the game while at the same time getting seasoned players back into the mix. Last month, "The Division" had a free to play weekend for PC players, perhaps to show people what is going on with the game.

The update alone allows more console players to join in although it is not as open compared to PC players. However, those lucky enough to secure an invite to see the changes will be able to know what is in store. This is a good thing on both fronts.

Other than the fixes and the new gameplay modes, there is another addition in the 1.8 update which reiterates the fact that the enemy factions are now more open to joining forces. There is also the new Resistance game mode that will have members of the enemy factions try and take down the players. In addition, they will multiply in waves, bringing more of a challenge to the players.
