"The Flash" season 2 will tear through the small screen in fall but fans are raring to know what will happen next and they already want a date to circle on their calendars. The CW has yet to drop a premiere date but Digital Spy speculates Barry will be back on Oct. 6.

Digital Spy says that "The Flash" season 2 could be up and running by Oct. 6, a Tuesday, as the series is keeping its Tuesday timeslot. This, of course, may be spot on or way off but this should give fans an idea on how close they are to the new chapter of Barry's small screen exploits. This inference came from the way the network sets release dates for new seasons of The CW's other superhero series, "Arrow." The CW always picks the immediate Wednesday prior to the New York Comic Con when starting Oliver Queen's adventures. The convention this year falls on Thursday, Oct. 8, so the new season for "Arrow" will likely start Oct. 7.

"The Flash" already introduced the entanglements of time travel, and the new season will carry on with the theme. In the season 1 finale, Barry saw a glimpse of his past, his present, and his future, so fans want to look ahead into what's to come. He saw Caitlin in her evil Killer Frost form and The Flash museum. It is unknown how far into the future Barry was looking into but it is safe to expect that these images will bear great significance to the show as it progresses. A lot of possibilities could open up when multiple timelines come into play.

Viewers are especially excited about Caitlin's and Cisco's metahuman transformations, which were already foreshadowed in the finale. Eobard told the latter that the particle accelerator explosion affected him, too, as he can remember events from a different timeline. Meanwhile, the former's villainous future was previewed in the wormhole. While it will be heartbreaking to see Caitlin, as Killer Frost, battling Barry, it is speculated that this ultimate battle, should it ever happen, will take place in an alternative timeline or dimension.

Actor Tom Cavanagh, whose characters (Eobard Thawne/ Reverse-Flash) in the series are already dead, remains to be a series regular in "The Flash" season 2. This makes sense since the show will further delve into storylines involving multiverses. Eddie, who shot himself to erase Eobard from existence, isn't going anywhere either.

Meanwhile, while all this complication happens, fans are hoping to see Barry donning a new costume, one that sports a white insignia on his chest. This is mostly due to the show being all too comic book-y and partly because Barry has to, since Oliver/ Arrow is said to do likewise. Actor Grant Gustin, who plays Flash, has also revealed there will be more speedsters in the new season.

"The Flash" season 2 will be back in fall.
