'The Flash' season 2 spoilers: Barry must face Black Canary's doppelgänger in Central City

She may have died in "Arrow" season 4, but Laurel Lance's doppelgänger will cause chaos in the penultimate episode of "The Flash" season 2.

In the episode, titled "Invincible," the brutal Zoom (Teddy Sears) will release an army that is composed of meta-humans from Earth-2 to attack the citizens of Central City. But Barry (Grant Gustin) will be startled when he learns that the leader of the army is Black Siren, the doppelgänger of Laurel's alter-ego, Black Canary.

But unlike the Black Canary who has no powers, the meta-human Black Siren could possibly possess the high-powered sonic scream powers featured in the comic book version of the character, based on the promo trailer for the episode.

It can be seen in the trailer that Barry is having a hard time believing that he is fighting against a person who looks exactly like Laurel, since he knows that she was brutally killed by the Oliver Queen's (Stephen Amell) enemy Damian Darkh (Neal McDonough) in the Arrowverse.

Meanwhile, Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale) will decide to join Barry in his quest to save the Central City from the attacks. Yet his father Joe (Jesse L. Martin) will not be happy about it.

The official synopsis for the upcoming episode reads:

"After Zoom unleashes an army of Earth-2 meta-humans on Central City, Barry is shaken when he sees their leader is the Black Canary's Earth-2 doppelganger, the Black Siren. Meanwhile, Wally takes to the streets to help The Flash stop the meta-humans, which worries Joe. Iris (Candice Patton) and Henry (guest star John Wesley Shipp) are concerned about Barry taking on Zoom."

However, it is not yet confirmed if the Black Canary-lookalike will stay in Central City for a long time, or if she will cross over to Star City to face the Green Arrow in the coming episodes.

"The Flash" season 2 episode 22 airs on Tuesday, May 17, on The CW.
