'The Fosters' season 4 spoilers, air date: will Jesus survive injuries?

Everyone in the Adams-Foster household appears to be in trouble during the mid-season finale of "The Fosters" season 4, but Jesus' (Noah Centineo) fate seems to be the most disconcerting.

In the episode titled "Collateral Damage," Jesus thought that his sister Mariana (Cierra Ramirez) had been kidnapped by her violent ex-boyfriend Nick (Louis Hunter) when she went missing. Despite Mariana's explanation, Jesus when on to strike Nick violently. But Nick retaliated hard, leaving Jesus unconscious at the end of the episode.

Since Jesus already experienced a head trauma several episodes back, his latest blow in the head could have a fatal repercussion in his life. But does it mean that Stef (Teri Polo) and Lena (Sherri Saum) will lose one of their children when the family drama resumes.

However, executive producer Peter Paige admitted that killing the character would be very devastating. "When Jake [T. Austin, who previously played Jesus] left the show, that was a possibility. We talked about whether we should kill Jesus. But the truth is I don't know if any of us can bear to watch that show," the executive producer told TVLine. He also said that it will be hard to watch both mothers grieve the loss of a child in the upcoming episodes of the series.

Paige also shed light on the possible divorce between Stef and Lana in the second half of the season. According to the executive producer, the couple is still deeply in love with each other despite all the hurdles in the marriage. "I think even if there are challenges and complications to this divorce story around saving the house and pissing people off who thought they had a contract, I don't think you need to worry that our moms aren't still in love," Paige said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
