'The Good Wife' season 7 spoilers: Diane is trapped in a heated abortion-related case in episode 8 'Restraint'

This week's episode of "The Good Wife" season 7 will center on Diane, who will find herself at variance with the judge in the midst of a complicated case. The title of the upcoming installment is "Restraint" and the promo provides a glimpse of what sort of court trouble Diane will be in.

"I would like to file a motion for substitution of judge," Diane says to a surprised Hon. Ben Markovski. Refusing to believe what he has just been told, Markovski, with his eyebrows raised, clarified the question, "Are you asking me to remove myself?" before sharply denying the request.

In this "The Good Wife" season 7 episode, Diane will be seen "personally conflicted" by the heated case as it is more than just the people in the courtroom but the society itself. What makes it worse for Diane is that she needs to win the whole thing to be able to keep an important client.

The case, according to spoilers, has to do with abortion with pro-choice and pro-life advocates all having a say on the matter. From the looks of it, what the client wants Diane to do is against her own morals. Cary will lend a hand on the case but it remains to be seen how this will all go down.

It's been a while since "The Good Wife" season 7 directed the spotlight on Diane. Carter Matt points out that she wasn't much of a presence from the beginning of the new season so it will be exciting to see an installment centered on her.

The bonus that comes in this episode is the reappearance of Broadway veteran Peter Gallagher as attorney Ethan Carver. The actor first appeared in the series this season in the episode "Taxed," where Diane had to set aside her personal beliefs to win a certain case.

The promo for this "The Good Wife" season 7 episode also shows Eli and Vanessa getting a little too cozy as the former looks as if he is leaning for a kiss.

"The Good Wife" season 7 episode 8 "Restraint" airs Nov. 22 at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
