CBS included the highly-acclaimed legal and political drama "The Good Wife" on the list of shows which it picked up for another season. But will the show's season 7 be its last?

If Matt Czuchry's statement on E! News will be the basis for the answer, then "The Good Wife" could still be aired for at least two seasons.

"It's been such an amazing run that I'm kind of at peace now with whatever happens ... I signed a contract at the end of season six for seasons seven and eight, so I made peace with the fact it may go longer and that would be OK," the actor, who portrays the role of lawyer Cary Agos, stated.

However, he said that it would also be okay for him if the network decides to end the series after season 7, saying that they are already fortunate enough to have done more than 100 episodes over the years because not all series are given the chance to reach that feat.

Series co-creator Robert King also addressed the questions regarding the show's possible ending after season 7, saying, "Can we leave that unanswered for the moment? I think all will become clear very, very soon."

But when the series returns for its seventh season, fans will miss seeing Stern, Lockhart & Gardner's resident private investigator Kalinda Sharma (Archie Panjabi) on screen. The Emmy Award-winning British actress thinks that the perfect time for her character Kalinda to depart from the show has come, and there are no more evolutions left for her to explore.

Still, Czuchry believes that Kalinda needs to find closure next season.

In an interview with HuffPost Live, the actor said, "Cary and Kalinda have had a strong friendship over 100-plus episodes, so that lack of closure is going to come into play in season 7."

"The Good Wife" season 7's premiere date is still unconfirmed at the moment.
