After months of silence, director Brad Bird finally gave an update on the highly-anticipated Pixar sequel "The Incredibles 2." He hinted that there might be some changes to expect in the film.

During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the filmmaker said that the movie "very actively moving" and that they are "very excited" on how things are going at the moment.

He added that they are "trying to take it in some new directions" for "Incredibles 2" while keen not to spill the beans on their plans for the superhero family fans met in the big screen 12 years ago.

When pressed for details, Bird quipped "I don't like unwrapping presents before Christmas." The only thing he wants fans to know for now is that the supercharged family of five are indeed coming back.

From what he said, it can be expected that there will be new things in "The Incredibles 2." After all, it has been more than a decade since the movie hit the big screen. However, Bird did say that the film will have ""same characters and feel."

It is unknown if Bird wrote in the time that passed since the original film, but it is believe it will be remiss if he did not. Previous reports hinted that it will be the case with Jack Jack, who was just a baby in the first movie, now a youngster.

It was even reported that he will be the villain in "The Incredibles 2" since he is still trying to master his powers and what very dangerous set of skills he has.

Jack Jack has shape-shifting ability, which helped the undercover family to ultimately defeat baddie Syndrome in the first film. It is rumored that the youngest member of the Parr family will go rogue in "The Incredibles 2."

Of course, these are mere speculations for now as Bird and Pixar keep their cards close to their chest when it comes to plot details about the sequel.

What's only sure for now is "The Incredibles 2" flying to the silver screen in 2019. By then, it will have been 15 years since the first film came out.
