Sony Interactive Entertainment and Team ICO has recently released the official trailer for "The Last Guardian," and fans are getting hyped over the announced release date, which falls on the first week of December.

Gamers will soon get immersed in "The Last Guardian's" world where they will follow the story of a boy and his hybrid griffin-like beast named Trico, a wonderful creature that took almost a decade to create.

"The Last Guardian" has undergone nearly a decade of development before it's official release date was announced to the public. Because of the long wait and countless release delays, previous speculations suggested that the game's production would end up being cancelled.

A few years back, Sony announced that "The Last Guardian" has been delayed, and will not be committing to any release dates. Because of this, a lot of gamers believed that the game will no longer be released.

However, Team ICO lead director and designer — Fumito Ueda — assured fans that the game is just undergoing further enhancements to provide gamers with a better gaming experience.

"To provide more challenging and better quality of content to users and to fulfill First Party Studio's obligations, I decided to postpone its release timing," said Ueda.

"The Last Guardian" initially started its development process back in 2007, and after a decade of enhancements, the game is finally ready to ship internationally.

After a long wait, PlayStation gamers will now be able to enjoy Ueda's wonderful creauture and boy tandem on the PlayStation 4. When asked about how Ueda developed Trico over the years, he referred to his childhood experience with various animals. It's really all based on my childhood memories, the way I interacted with the animals, the way they reacted to me," sharedUeda.

"The Last Guardian" will be available for PlayStation 4 gamers in Japan and North America on Dec. 6. Meanwhile, gamers in Europe and Australia will get the game a day later on Dec. 7. Players in the U.K. will have to wait until Dec. 9 before they can get a hand on copies of "The Last Guardian."
