'The Last: Naruto the Movie' sequel: New 'Naruto' movie in the works, series creator confirms
Fans can breathe a sigh of relief because "The Last: Naruto The Movie" is not the last film in the entire "Naruto" film series at all. News about a new movie slated to be released next year was announced by series creator Masashi Kishimoto at the end of "The Last's" screening.
The upcoming film, scheduled to be released in 2015, will reportedly concentrate on the life of Bolt, Naruto's eldest child with his wife Hinata. In a report posted in the Shonen Jump, the currently released "The Last: Naruto the Movie" is actually an introduction to the so-called Naruto New Era Opening Project, which is also dubbed as the Naruto Shin Jidai Kaimaku Project. This will reportedly be the venue where Bolt's story will take off.
There are limited details about the next Naruto film, but it also reportedly includes Bolt's younger sister Himawari. Sasuke and Sakura's daughter Sarada will also play an important role in the film, and her relationship with Bolt will also be given emphasis in the film's alleged plot.
Avid fans of the series will definitely revel in this news, especially since their favorite story will continue even if Kishimoto revealed the series finale in November. The new plot, as it turns out, will focus on the next generation of characters in Konoha.
In a recent interview posted by Crunchyroll, the series creator admitted that ending the manga does not mean that he will finally have his much-needed rest.
"I am currently thinking about a story between Bolt and Sasuke's daughter Salad. Sasuke and Sakura will be in it, too," the creator, who also happens to be the film's executive producer, confessed. "I am also thinking about Bolt's lethal technique."
Naruto, considered as one of the best selling manga in history, ran from 1997 up to November 2014, and was released with an English translation for non-Japanese fans around the world.
