For those who can't get enough of the horror-psychological game genre a fitting match to your odd sense of taste would definitely be something along the lines of Mistaken Visions' "The Piano" -- a noir-horror adventure game that has the right balance of spooks and storyline.

According to a recent announcement, game developer Mistaken Visions, in collaboration with Game If You Are, has set the first-ever debut of "The Piano" on the PC platformer this spring of 2018. Along with the release confirmation is a new trailer showing off the game's unique style -- a mix of psychological elements and an abundant narrative -- mated with an interesting yet dark-toned premise.

Originally, the game was set for an official release back in 2017, however, the game's creator, Jonathan Stemmildt, pulled the game from its scheduled outing since he was not satisfied with the feedback he received from testers.

In a statement, Stemmildt shares that he envisioned the game to be something that was not merely about the scary factors but, more than that, it was something that players can emotionally attach themselves to. He also revealed that "The Piano" is the very first game that he has created, and he can't wait for it to finally become reality.

"Five years ago, I had the idea of making a horror game that wasn't just about the scares, but which featured a deep and personal story that players could become emotionally invested in. It was my first game and I never really expected much to come of it -- but suddenly, something I dreamed about for years is becoming reality, and time is just flying by," Stemmildt explained.

Through the game, players will be able to take on the persona of John Barnerway -- a man accused of having committed murders. Users are then tasked to uncover the truth behind the real murderer, while also bearing witness to how the events affect Barnerway's psyche. To add to the depressing yet captivating feel of the title, the game is set after the events of the Great War.

"The Piano" will come exclusive for the PC platform. A specific release date has not been confirmed yet, but the game will see its debut this spring.
