It seems that the season is ripe for a new "The Sims 4" expansion as rumors surface that the "Seasons" expansion for the simulation game is now underway.

This was according to a customer service representative from Electronic Arts (EA), the publisher and license owner for "The Sims" franchise. Apparently, this much was also revealed during a conversation with a member of the player community for "The Sims 4" and became quite a buzz since the new expansion, numbering in at fifth, is highly anticipated.

In addition to the development leak referred to by the EA customer service representative, a new feature will also be included and is quite possibly the PC to PlayStation 4 (PS4) progress crossover mechanic. This will allow PC users to export their progress in their machines to the PS4 and possibly vice versa. Because of this, players will be able to fully customize their "Sims 4" experience regardless of the gaming platform.

The said conversation took place between community member and YouTuber The Sims 4 TBAF and EA customer service representative Pushwinder in which the final answer of the latter was: "The developer team are working on 'Sims 4 Seasons,' You would get notified once it is out." Pushwinder did not exactly reveal when it could be expected, only that it is in the works.

This also confirms that "Seasons" will be the fifth expansion for "The Sims 4" and not something else. This should fit in nicely with the four other expansions "Get to Work," "Get Together," "City Living" and "Cats and Dogs." "Seasons" will be introducing the much-needed weather and climate effects of the real world to the game, which may include rain, snow, humidity, heat, falling leaves and everything else that comes with winter, spring, summer and fall.

For those who simply just can't wait, another rumor claims that "Seasons" is set for release on Sept. 18, which is still about half-a-year away but this might change and should be taken with a grain of salt. Fans and owners of the game are then advised to stay tuned to EA for exact release dates and announcements.
