South Korean TV network KBS has started airing its new show "The Unit" last Oct. 28.

The new show will be showcasing idols who are looking for a second chance of hitting it big in the Korean Pop Music industry. Thus, the show will be following a sort of idol reboot format. The full title of the show reads "Idol Rebooting Project: The Unit," but it is often shortened to "The Unit."

"The Unit" will have a total of 14 episodes. The title stands for "you and I create." All 500 applicants range from actively promoting girl groups to boy bands. At the end of the new show, two new groups with 10 members will be formed. The new girl group and boy band will aim to gather renewed attention from K-Pop fans from all over the world.

Among the participants seen on the show include Yebin (DIA), Somyi (DIA), Serri (Dal Shabet), Woo Hee (Dal Shabet), as well as Laboum's Yujeong and Hae-in.

Only 126 contestants, 63 female and 63 male, were able to move on to the next round. They will be divided into 14 teams of nine members. Each team will be given missions which will have bearings for eliminations.

An official performance for the show's title track "My Turn," was published in the YouTube channel of KBS World TV, which lasted for a total of five minutes and 54 seconds.

Rain, Hyuna, San E, Jo Hyun Ah (Urban Zakapa), Hwang Chi-Yeol, and Taemin (SHINee) will be serving as mentors for the participants.

While most fans were thrilled to see their talented but less noticed idols joining the rebooting show, there are others that said that the show has somehow moved away from its original objective. Most of the contestants may have already debuted and are currently promoting; there were also contestants that were obviously considered as rookies.
