Alaric (Matt Davis) and Bonnie (Kat Graham) will find themselves thrown in at the deep end in the upcoming episode of The CW series "The Vampire Diaries."

In "I Carry Your Heart with Me," Cartermatt reports that the pair's world will turn topsy-turvy when their plan against Lily (Annie Wersching) and the Heretics goes awry. Meanwhile, Enzo (Michael Malarkey) will follow his suspicions and set out to uncover Valerie's (Elizabeth Blackmore) secret. As for Damon (Ian Somerhalder), he will soon realize that his mother is a bigger foe than he expects.

The synopsis reveals that just when the older Salvatore sibling believes he has Lily by the throat, something unexpected will happen and it will change the game. He will have no option but to use the alternative plan, but this will start a chain of events he never wants to happen. Mary Louise (Teressa Liane) and Nora's (Scarlett Byrne) eagle eyes will notice that Damon is up to something and will act accordingly.

This will then force Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Caroline (Candice King) to salvage the situation at the Heaven and Hell ball. They will spend the night trying to divert the girls' attention at the Whitmore College gala. Will they succeed? The Heretics are proving to be a tough opponent. Once they learn of their plan to take down Lily, they will not waste time crushing them.

Last episode, viewers finally understood Valerie's hatred of Stefan. It turned out that their connection went far deeper than Caroline expected it to be. He and the first Heretic actually made a baby together, but it was killed by Lily's boyfriend Julian (Todd Lasance). He also foiled their attempt to run away together. Valerie never told Stefan about the child, and from then on, hated him with every fiber of her being.

Elsewhere, Damon and Bonnie found Lily's other Heretic Oscar (Tim Kang). The International Business Times reports that they wanted him as hostage to force Lily's hand to give back Elena's (Nina Dobrev) body back to them. Oscar tried to buy his freedom by offering to help Bonnie with her nightmares. They soon found out, however, that it was the Phoenix Stone that was responsible for her sleepless nights. Unfortunately, Valerie showed up and killed him.

"The Vampire Diaries" airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. on The CW.
