Last Sunday's episode of "The Walking Dead" shocked fans when one of the show's major characters, Glenn (Steven Yeun), was killed in a zombie attack. However, many seemed to question the character's death, and the episode left viewers wondering if the AMC show pulled a Jon Snow last Sunday as showrunner Scott Gimple released a statement on the "Talking Dead" aftershow saying that fans will get to see "some version of Glenn again."

In the statement via Chris Hardwick on "Talking Dead," Gimple said, "In some way we will see Glenn—some version of Glenn or parts of Glenn—again. Either in flashback or the current story to help complete the story."

Eagle-eyed fans took to social media after "Talking Dead" aired, with some saying that Glenn couldn't be dead as he wasn't included in the "In Memoriam" segment of the aftershow. Various theories have also begun circulating on the Internet, with many saying that Nicholas's body falling on top of Glenn may have prevented him from being eaten by the zombies.

Speaking to TVLine, Gimple said that he wanted viewers to have a genuine emotional experience in watching last Sunday's episode and in the midst of the show's storytelling, "bad things happen."

"Ultimately, it's all part of a bigger story," said the showrunner. "I hope that the audience will just wait to see the greater story and see how it all plays out."

When asked whether Gimple wished that the aftershow didn't exist this week as he had to give fans an explanation about the shocking events of the episode, the showrunner said that he likes that "Talking Dead" is in place "because we live in an era where that conversation is going to happen no matter what."

Still, Gimple remained coy about the true fate of Glenn. When he was asked by the website whether the character was truly dead, Gimple laughed and said, "I'm not going to answer it."

"The Walking Dead" airs on Sundays at 9/8c on AMC.
