'The Walking Dead' season 6 spoilers: Character deaths when season returns?

AMC

"The Walking Dead" season 6 is currently enjoying its midseason break but is scheduled to return with episode 9 on Feb. 14, 2016. The Valentine's Day episode, titled "No Way Out," will be introducing Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and his band of Saviors, as seen in the official promo.

The short promo reveals Daryl (Norman Reedus), Sasha (Sonequa Martin) and Abraham (Michael Cudlitz) encountering a band of armed men on motorcycles. The mysterious men then request Daryl's group to surrender their weapons and truck, claiming that all their possessions now belong to Negan.

With the introduction of Negan it is expected that "No Way Out" may also introduce Paul "Jesus" Monroe (Tom Payne). Jesus is known as the leader of the Hilltop Colony, another group of survivors that will eventually team up with Rick's (Andrew Lincoln) group to form a trade route and fight Negan's Saviors.

While no official synopsis for the episode has yet been released, judging from the promo trailer and the last moments of episode 8, it is expected that at least one character is set to die in the premiere episode.

Back in November, show runner Scott M. Gimple told the Hollywood Reporter that the midseason premiere would be "deadly," indicating that major character deaths may occur before the episode ends.

It is greatly hinted that Rick's group will go through trouble given that Sam (Major Dodson) was calling out to his mom while they were walking through a zombie horde. In the comic books, Sam's mom, Jessie (Alexandra Breckenridge), died when the walkers broke into the Alexandria Safe-Zone and it is possible this will also occur in the series.

However, it was previously reported that Maggie (Lauren Cohan) or Daryl may be killed off. In the comic books Negan viciously killed Glenn (Stephen Yuen) with a baseball bat and it is possible that this may happen in the series but to either Maggie or Daryl instead.
