In the next episode of "The Walking Dead," the Alexandrians, Kingdommers, and Hilltoppers encounter unexpected setbacks as they proceed with their plan.

The trailer for the upcoming installment titled "Monsters" was just recently released and showed the combined groups from Alexandria, Hilltop, and the Kingdom going through the next phase of their plan to take down Negan and the Saviors. Morgan Jones (Lennie James), Jesus Rovia (Tom Payne), and the rest of their group march down the road with their enemy hostages all tied together. Suddenly, they are attacked by a horde of zombies that roll down from the roadsides. It appears that the other Saviors may have ambushed them in order to save their comrades.

Ezekiel (Khary Payton), Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride), and their group are ambushed as well in the forest. They raise their arms up as they are surrounded by the Saviors to their surprise. Aaron (Ross Marquand) and some of his squad are injured and need help, apparently. Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) himself is caught by one of the enemies while Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) fights off some of them. It appears everyone has encountered setbacks and is in danger of retaliation by the Saviors.

In the last episode, the Alexandrians, Kingdommers, and Hilltoppers attacked their targets simultaneously and according to the plan. Jones and his group took down the satellite station and rounded up some hostages. Ezekiel and his squad destroyed a Savior outpost and left no survivors. Aaron and his crew crippled yet another outpost but some of his members were shot. Grimes and Dixon searched one of the main enemy buildings for guns but did not find any. Their goal was to retrieve the weapons and bring them back to the sanctuary.

"The Walking Dead" season 8 episode 3 will hit the airwaves on Sunday, Nov. 5 at 9 p.m. EDT on AMC.
